Kim Sundstrom

DNP, APRN, PMHNP

Dr. Kim Sundstrom is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who treats most disorders while specializing in obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety-related disorders. She is passionate about helping people move from “surviving” to “thriving” in their lives. Her approach to treatment includes medication management, integrative treatments (such as supplements, IV therapies, lifestyle changes), Ketamine- Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She is an advocate of mental health awareness and has presented to numerous groups and organizations on various conditions and treatment options. Her over 12 years of nursing experience include working in the ER, disaster relief, research, mental health, and remote travel nursing in Alaska. Prior to nursing, she worked as a social worker and a stay-at-home mom to her three wonderful boys.


Kim earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice as a PMHNP from the University of Utah, where she completed a one-year internship with The OCD and Anxiety Treatment Center, training in group and individual ERP for OCD, anxiety, and trauma. She has completed numerous trainings on OCD and related disorders, including the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) through the International OCD Foundation.


She is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the International OCD Foundation.


She currently lives in Utah with her husband and boys, where she enjoys cooking, fly fishing, and traveling while dreaming of someday living near a beach.
